Warmest Welcome to Acadia!

I know the beginning of the school year marks the end of summer, but begining university is an exciting journey. I am very pleased to welcome you to Acadia and delighted that you’ve chosen our campus and Wolfville to be your home for the next four or more years, and I look forward to meeting you all during Welcome Week. Also, I want to welcome back all of our students who are returning to continue on their Acadia experience.

As with any journey, it’s important to begin it successfully and be fully prepared. Welcome Week is ten days of formal and informal activities planned by University staff and the Acadia Student’s Union to ensure you learn as much as you can about our community and meet the people who will help you succeed. During Welcome Week it is virtually guaranteed that you will make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime and we have worked hard to make sure this is the case. We want you to be comfortable here and want you to make the transition to university smoothly.

To those of you who are returning, please make our new students feel welcomed and give them a helping hand whenever you can. Remember how exciting your Welcome Week was, but also remember that it can also be a bit overwhelming. Use your experience to help make this a great Welcome Week for everyone.

Please make sure you follow all of the Welcome Week news and updates on the websites and social media channels you’ve been given and commit yourself to participating in every activity and opportunity available. We want you to learn everything about Acadia and how you can prepare yourself for one of the most important experiences of your life. Being engaged within our community is an essential part of the true Acadia experience, so start off on the right track.

Again, welcome to Acadia and thank you for choosing us.

Stand up and cheer!
